Return from hiatus
Well I know that right now my sister is the only one reading this :) but maybe someday there will be more! I am finally catching my breath from last week.. worked every night but Tuesday, including Saturday and Easter! It was hard to not get to spend time with my family for the holiday, missed seeing my grandparents too. Worked a brunch on Sunday and came home to an empty apartment since my boyfriend is out of town for three weeks. It's a little bit lonelier than I remember it being, it's hard to not be surrounded by those you love you physically! I've done long distance before but for some reason this is a lot harder on me, I think it's because this is the first time it's with the man that I plan on spending forever with and because we've been living together now, I'm ready for him to come home and be next to me in bed again. For those of you who are doing long distance for long periods of time after having living together, I salute you because I don't know if I'd be strong enough for that. However, it's making me appreciate the time I do have with him that much more. And also with my family, that I don't see as much now that I'm working. I cherish every second with all of them and it's times like these that show just how much someone means to us when they are away. It has also solidified what I already knew, that this man is my forever and I can't wait to spend my live with him. I guess all I want to say after this last week is, please love those around you with every conviction and all your strength, we don't always have them around when we want them so the times we do have them, need to be the most amazing. Actions speak louder than words, make sure the people you care about know you love them through your actions and not just from hearing the words I love you (although that does help) or even by expanding on why or what you love about them, just so they know! This is a precious and short life we live, so go actually LIVE it!! And take your loved ones with you on your crazy ride!

Well this weekend was amazing and sad, all mixed together! I got to spend a perfect day with my boyfriend yesterday. Relaxing, errands, dinner at Old Chicago's and saw Draft Day (very good movie, I love my football)! Today we got a bit of time together this morning and got to see his parents, before I had to take him to the airport this afternoon. He has to go to CA for work for three weeks... We've had time a part before, just never this long. I'm totally fine living by myself, I've done it before, but once you have that person you love to come home to every night and turn to when you just need to cuddle, it's hard to go back to it just being you for that long. I'm going to miss him like crazy, he's my best friend, and the love of my life. When you find the one you love, you have to hold on to them. I plan on holding on forever! I guess we can use this time to miss each other and just remember how important our time spent together really is. I'm letting myself be sad today, and wallow in self pity, but tomorrow, it's back to class, and working every night this week. Everyone please cherish those around you and all of the time you get with them, it's more precious than any of us realize.

Hump Day
Well I said a was new week, with new chances... well my body decided that would be to get food poisoning on Monday night! As everyone knows, that's probably the worst kind of sickness, still recovering, but getting there! It's nice to know when you have those moments that you have people who care about you and will be there for you, makes the recovery that much easier, as they say mood is a huge part of recovery, have a good attitude and you'll get better sooner, if you don't the process takes longer. I think we all need to remember that in times of sickness and know that we all have someone to lean on. Although, the only upside to getting a stomach sickness is that you lose about 5 pounds in the process :) I have a wedding I'm in coming up and now I'm at the perfect weight to fit in the dress.. now I just have to stay there! :) It's a beautiful day here in CO, in the 70's!! But back to the 30's on Sunday, I love CO's bipolar weather! I finally just registered for my actual last semester of college classes and can't wait to be done in December!! It's been a long ride but so worth it. Speaking of, I have homework to get to and class, and working on building up my club cracker diet to something a bit more substantial! Have a good hump day y'all!

New Week, New Chances
I finally had the weekend off of work, and it was perfect! Got to spend time with my family and my favorite guy. I will never take my loving family for granted and I have no idea what I would do without them, they mean the world to me! It would have been better had my sister been home, but of course the one weekend I'm off, she's out of town! Always perfect timing, huh? I was able to catch my breath from my crazy week last week and get myself ready for this week. You know you're in 7 college classes, 21 credits, and working when you have to go buy eye de-puffer at 22! If that's all I have to sacrifice, I guess I can manage that ;) My amazing boyfriend watched the notebook with me last night, and shocking, he enjoyed it! I love that movie and the story it portrays, I hope our love and life together will last us forever, till we're taken away together. This life and precious and should be treated as such! I'm taking in every minute with him right now until he leaves for work on Sunday for 3 weeks... that will be tough for me but maybe good for us, make us miss each and realize how special our time together really is! I love this life I live and am so blessed for all the opportunities that have been brought to me and wouldn't change a thing (except maybe the hours I have to work ;)) and look forward to what's ahead. It's a new week y'all, a fresh start to work towards your goals and dreams, reach for them!

Lemon poppyseed muffins
So here are my lemon poppyseed muffins from last night! I may have completely cheated and used a box mix... but with my schedule, sometimes it's necessary to take these short cuts and they are still delicious! The boyfriend loves them :) They are so refreshing and perfect for spring, tart and refreshing. Hoping to get to plant some flowers for the front porch in the near future, just have to make sure the possibility of a freeze is for sure out of the mix. I love spring and the start of new life and beautiful things ahead. Have an amazing hump day to whoever may be reading this :)

Catching My Breath
Now that I've had time to take a minute and have some time for myself I decided it was time for a new post! After working until 1 am Friday and having to be back by 7:30 for a 1500 person event and proceeding to work for a 14 hour shift all day Saturday, it didn't leave time for much else. It was a long couple of days! I took Sunday with my guy to sleep ;) and get my errands run since I knew there would be no other time to get them in. Then back to class yesterday! It's making me very determined and proud of myself for being able to balance all of this, although, it's hard to be away from home as much as I am. But this is all just a stepping stone to my next be step after graduation. Getting through this will make it more than worth it. It also makes me appreciate the down time I do have, however little it may be. It's these times that make me realize how special life and those around us are and how easily that is forgotten these days. It gives me something to looking forward to, the future, the possibilities, and the endless dreaming ahead of me. It's finally Spring, and the flowers are blooming, even more to boost up my mood! Also, another reminder that I'm that much closer to finishing one of my two final semesters in college. I was also reminded today how luck I am to have the friends I have. My best friend lives hundreds of miles away, we text when we can but talking on the phone with our schedules is nearly impossible, and today we got to talk for an hour, regardless of how long it's been since we talked last, it's like we never skipped a beat. She's always there for me and is one of the most amazing people I know, and I wish she knew just how amazing, strong, courageous, and how beautiful of person she truly is. She is a once in a lifetime friend. Well friends, it's been a wonderful day, full of friends, family, reminders, and optimism. I hope to share that with those around me. For now, I'm going to go finish my lemon poppy seed muffins, and get everything ready for Beef Stroganoff for dinner with me and my guy. Have a good night y'all, and never stop dreaming!

A gorgeous day!
It's a new day and it's a beautiful one! There are times we all take this life for granted, I am currently enrolled in 21 college credits and have a job that has late night hours, so when I have my rare night off with nothing to do, I take full advantage. It's my time to relax and enjoy time with my amazing boyfriend who stands by me through everything, I don't know where I would be without him. He's the most amazing man I know and couldn't be happier and enjoy all the time we get together when neither of us are working or when I'm not in class. I have tonight off and plan on doing just that. But for now, before he comes home, a little laundry, a little cleaning, and getting my nails done (trying to pull myself together a little ;)).
And to make this night even more perfect, it's perfect weather out in this beautiful state I get to call home! It's been a crazy winter and it's nice to have a day off from it. Weather moving back in soon, but it looks like rain, which is my all time favorite. There isn't much better than the smell of a good CO rain.
Yes... I get to call this home, and I know how lucky I am! For dinner tonight we are enjoying some shrimp scampi, one of my all time favorites! I'll be so happy when I can afford fresh shrimp, but for now, frozen works perfectly! I'm loving my life right now, and am so thankful and blessed for my family, my friends, and my boyfriend who all mean the world to me. Now, it's really time to relax and pick my feet up. Have a good night everyone :)
